ABOUT THE MOVEMENT

BLACKOUT THE SYSTEM is a gobal movement born out of frustration, injustice, and the undeniable truth that the people hold the power - not corrupt governments, not billionaires, not broken systems.

We are shutting down the U.S. economy - strategically and peacefully - by removing our labor, our spending, our financial support, forcing the system to listen.

This movement launched to reclaim power, restore justice, and unite people across all races, cultures, and classes.

We are taking the steps necessary to build and strengthen parallel systems and networks within our own communities. The less reliant local communities are on big business, the more resilient, sustainable and immune they become to wide-scale economic changes. In turn, it makes long-term resistance possible. Real change begins at local levels.

What We Stand For

Our nation has been under siege. The constitution has been attacked. The people have been lied to, oppressed, robbed, and degraded. The current administration has been bought and governmental corruption is rampant. Our veterans have been abandoned, our elderly have been left wanting, benefits have been removed from our children, and families are being torn apart each day. It is time for this to stop.

This movement is peaceful. But it is POWERFUL. We are using the greatest leverage we have - our unity and economic power - to bring the system down to its knees.

There is time to make sure you have everything you need for this BLACKOUT, and ensure you plan for the greatest impact possible.

To prevent "spike spending" before and after the BLACKOUT, we ask that all participants purchase goods needed from community-owned stores and markets leading up to and after the dates. This helps with sustained impact and keeps our money out of the mega businesses' pockets.

Join the Sticker Team

This is where it starts.

Share this movement with friends, family, coworkers and across all social media platforms. NOW IS THE TIME TO UNITE.

Every new sticker is proof that someone else has had enough.

Your first mission:

Put up at least 1 sticker in public.

Take 2 photos and send them in.

Have 3 conversations about what it means.

We post your photos on the national map. Showing the movement’s spread in real time. People see it. They join in.

Why it works: Silence is the system’s greatest weapon. Stickers make the frustration impossible to ignore and turn you into a beacon for others nearby.

Join the Pressure Campaign

After the first spark, we coordinate.
Members from multiple cities pick the same day to act. So it hits all at once. Coordinated "quiet quitting" from all of us.

Your role:

Host a local meetup or support an existing one.

Share skills, swap tools, and support local workers.

Show your neighbors we can take care of each other without corporate permission.

Why it works: Parallel systems weaken their grip and make long-term resistance possible.

The Path Forward

We will move others to recognize the problem.

Once they recognize, we move them to coordinate.

And after we start coordinating, we escalate and ratchet up the pressure.

All the while, we build community and develop the systems that are coming next.

Remove/withdraw your money from the banks.
Banks lend your money to corporations that purchase politicians who make policies against the people. Think Regional & local credit unions.

Cancel Subscriptions

Anything unnecessary - CUT IT. If it does not support the people CUT IT! Put your money back in your pockets and drive a wedge between your resources and their products.
